What should be the main function of a university

More and more college students have reported dissatisfied feelings about university courses to the school or EducationalDepartment. They think universities should provide graduates with knowledge and skills needed in the workplace. Actually,this issue of educational models has caused concern in the public, and people holds different views about this problem.If you ask me, I think the function of a university must be teaching students, but as higher education, it should pay attention totraining of students’ abilities and thought quality. To tell the truth, whatever the university teaches, they are all useful

knowledge, just we don’t know how to utilize them. When we have accumulated cultural knowledge, I believe we can applythem to practical works. for example，if we learn architectonics in the college，when we become an architect in thefuture，the knowledge will provide us guidance for designing the buildings.

As conclusion, we should keep a balanced mind about work in the future. The knowledge and skills needed in the workplaceare necessary, however those courses which only impart theoretical knowledge are also essential , since they are the basisof practical operation.so we should take every course seriously.
