As we know ,there are so many differences between culture of the East and West that I can not list all of their different aspects.I will focus on the differences of diet custom and teaching system.For your better understanding ,I will set examples of China and America.

It is no doubt that it is a tradition to use chopsticks for Chinese.But people in America prefer to forks and knives.This different result is based on different food they are like .Americans choose to eat beefsteak,bread,and salad,while Chinese people choose noodles ,pancakes and rice.What is more,the custom of drinking tea in China and drinking coffee in America are stand out particularly.

The gap of teaching system between China and America is big.Chinese students always complain about their homework.Too much homework has limited the time to exercise and relax.

In my opinion,the study in America is more interesting .Teachers pay attentions to training students skills in thinking in real life not to emphasis on the importances of memories.

Keeping Customs

When people move to another country, they not only face a different environment and language, but also different customs. Some people choose to follow the customs of their adopted country, they may find that it helps them to adapt more quickly to the new society. They have something to discuss and share with their new neighbors, and sharing customs is one way for people to feel closer to one another. Thus, following the new customs may help immigrants feel more at home. It may also help them to see the positive things in their new environment and do forget their feelings of homesickness.

On the other hand, some people choose to continue following their own customs may also find that it helps them feel more at home. There are many things to adjust to in another country, and

following their traditional customs may help people feel more secure in the new surroundings. To sum up, our customs have value and are an important part of our culture. Therefore, I don’t believe that we should abandon our traditional customs when we move to another country. At the same time, I believe that we should learn about the customs of our new home and follow those that appeal to us. In this way, we can remember and celebrate our old custom while adapting to our new one.

Successful marriage is the most effective form of social support. It relieves the effects of stress, and leads to better mental and physical health. Various explanations have been considered, but the most plausible is that wives provide more social support than husbands. Perhaps men need it more?

People under stress tend to bring their potential into full play and to realize their goals.

In my opinion, we shouldn't escape from stress but to face it as it is. What we can do is to adapt to the stress and to profit from it rather than to avoid it.

A Flood Disaster

A flood disaster took place in some areas in China. It had been raining all those days and never stopped, which led to the flood. The PLA men arrived immediately to rescue the villagers of the flooded areas. And they did their best to fight against the flood. They supplied the villagers with fresh vegetables and food. Some medical teams were organized to help them so that they could have healthy diet. Poisonous food and dead animals were not allowed to be eaten and the water must be cleared over and over again before being drunk. The doctors told them to pay special attention to their health. Is Homeschooling Advisable?

Today, a growing number of children in China are staying at home, not because they are giving up education but because their parents think they will actually receive a better education at home. They are being homeschooled at every level — kindergarten, primary, junior middle and even senior middle school.

People’s opinions vary on homeschooling. Some people support it, saying China’s current education mode puts heavy study pressure on students and many of them suffer from depression and even commit suicide. Some oppose it, maintaining that students need interaction with classmates, so that they can fit into society. Still, there are people who insist that homeschooling is a game for rich people only, which cannot be expanded to the whole of society.

Personally, I think homeschooling is advisable as long as the family can afford it. As people’s personalities differ, so education should be diversified. What’s more, we do have successful examples of homeschooling. For example, Zheng Yuanjie, a famous Chinese writer of children’s stories had his son study at home after his son finished primary school study. Today, his son has grown up to be a successful person.

Wealth

Some people think wealth can bring happiness to them. It is true that most of them try to acquire wealth by means of honest labor. They work hard and overcome many difficulties. After doing this, they feel very happy and pleased. Even their spending money is a kind of happiness。 But some people believe wealth can’t bring them happiness. For example, when one gets a fortune, the family members will come from different parts of the country and try to share the wealth with him. And afterwards, they will quarrel with one another, trying to share more. And

It can be seen that some students are addicted to computer games， and the number of them is keeping rising. They always spare their learning time to play computer games，which leads them to ignoring their studies. They just surf the Internet and play computer games， so they even don't know how to communicate with others in reality. It is such a big pity that it is time to take some measures to limit computer games.

First， the teacher should be responsible for educating students to leave away from computer games. Teachers should try to make students realize the original dangers of computer games. Second，the government should check the Internet cafes at times in order to let the runners run their business legally. Third，it is necessary to make some laws to forbid the game developers to create some harmful games for students.

Success

As everything exist only because its opposite(对立的), happiness exists only when pain exists. Just as a person who does not know failure never knows success, a person, who has not

experienced suffering or sadness never knows what happiness means.

Not all people like to work but everyone likes to play.All over the world Men and women,boys and girls enjoy sports.Sports help people to live happily.They help to keep people healthy and feeling good.When they are playing games,people gain a lot.This is good for their health.Having fun with their friends makes them happy.

English is a living language. It plays an important part in modern languages. Many countries in the world have made English the first or second language in their native lands. The most difficult thing I meet with in learning English is pronunciation. I always confuse some vowels and some consonants. It takes me a long time to correct my pronunciation. By constantly practicing, I finally overcome the difficulty and make great progress in learning English. English may be a dull, tedious and difficult language to the beginner, but there is no royal road to learning English. In learning English, perseverance and patience are requisite. The best way to learn English well is continuous practice. Try to make use of every opportunity and finally you will succeed in learning English.

Environment protection

There are still many problems of environmental protection in recent years. One of the most serious problems is the serious pollution of air, water and soil.

To protect the environment, governments of many countries have done a lot. Legislative steps

have been introduced to control air pollution, to protect the forest and sea resources and to stop any environmental pollution. Therefore, governments are playing the most important role in the environmental protection today.

In my opinion, to protect environment, the government must take even more concrete measures. First, it should let people fully realize the importance of environmental protection through education. Second, much more efforts should be made to put the population planning policy into practice, because more people means more pollution. Finally, those who destroy the environment intentionally should be severely punished. We should let them know that destroying environment means destroying mankind themselves

My hobby

Do you have any hobbies? If not ,what do you do in the holidays ? I have many hobbies .On weekdays ,when I study in school ,I play with my classmates .Sometimes I play Badminton with them,sometimes I play basketball with them .I think playing basketball is very interesting and exciting .But when I get home ,I like listening to music alone .Also I like reading story books.When I am not happy about something ,I usually draw some pictures though I am not good at drawing .On weekends ,there is no class ,I like shopping with my friends and my parents .

Generation Gap
